The Metrel MD 9880 True-RMS Thermal Multimeter is both a multimeter and an infrared imager. Thermal imaging expands its scope-for use. In addition to measuring electrical parameters, the Metrel MD 9880 True-RMS Thermal Multimeter can detect friction stress, thermal losses and leaks.
Thermal Imaging
The Metrel MD 9880 True-RMS Thermal Multimeter has an infrared resolution of 80x80px, a field-of-view of 21° x 21°, and a frame rate of 50Hz. Thermal images can be viewed in four different thermal palettes. Additionally, an on-screen cursor makes reading temperatures across the thermal image easy. The user can view temperatures in °C, °F or K. The Metrel MD 9880 True-RMS Thermal Multimeter can measure temperatures between -20°C to +260°C to an accuracy of ±3°C/3%.
Multimeter
Once hotspots have been detected using thermal imaging, the Metrel MD 9880 True-RMS Thermal Multimeter can test and measure various electrical parameters to troubleshoot the fault. The Metrel MD 9880 True-RMS Thermal Multimeter is auto- and manual-ranging and supports the following tests and electrical measurements:
