FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular - Choice of Model

The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is a handheld, IP67-rated, high-performing thermal imaging monocular designed to provide superior thermal surveillance. This thermal imager has been optimised for law enforcement professionals, as such, it features geotagged video recording and encrypted thermal video streaming. The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular can be used to execute and record law enforcement operations such as pursuits, evidence recovery, and search and rescue missions. The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is powered by a FLIR Boson™ thermal core which provides advanced thermal processing. Furthermore, its refresh rate of 60Hz enables the capture of smooth, unwavering footage. The user can choose to view thermal footage in a range of selectable thermal palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Bow, Rainbow, Graded Fire and Lava. The FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular can be used in all light conditions including total darkness, glaring light and lingering haze. This IR monocular also includes a Picture-in-Picture mode which allows the user to zoom in on distant details without losing the overall field-of-view (FOV). This allows the user to focus on targets or team members without compromising his/her peripheral awareness.

There are four versions of the FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular available. These models vary in regards to their lens sizes and fields-of-view; please see the table below for further details. 

FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular models with a 25mm or 36mm lens (PTM336, PTM366 and PTM466), are equipped with a manual focus ring which allows the user to achieve higher levels of clarity.For more information regarding the long-range, 36mm PTM466 model, please see the following video.

This IR monocular supports encrypted thermal video streaming: it can transmit encrypted thermal footage to a command centre via a wireless network. Moreover, the FLIR Scion PTM Professional Thermal Monocular is compatible with FLIR TruWITNESS®, allowing it to be linked with smart sensors in the air or on the ground. This provides comprehensive situational awareness and real-time centralised information at the command centre which is particularly useful for public safety agencies.
