Capable of seeing through darkness and thick smoke as well as capturing radiometric IR and visual images, the FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera is ideal for firefighting applications.
This infrared camera has an IR resolution of 160 x 120-pixels and a portrait field-of-view of 57° x 44°. It enables firefighting teams to complete a 360° assessments of scenes quickly, allowing them to see structures, people, animals and heat patterns that would not be visible to the naked eye. This provides the firefighters with a more comprehensive view and understanding of the scene, allowing fires and rescue operations to be tackled more effectively and efficiently. Please see the video below for an overview of the FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera.
Seeing structures and organic life through thick smoke and darkness is made easier by the FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera’s pistol-shaped design as the user is able to maintain the line-of-sight. It also includes an integrated 300-lumens torch for illuminating the scene and an MSX® image enhancement function for increased clarity. The MSX® function operates by overlaying the digital image onto the thermal image thereby improving the detail of the picture.
Using the Snapshot function, the emergency responder can take and save IR radiometric and visual images. Radiometric and visual images are saved simultaneously to the FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera’s extensive internal memory (capacity for 10 000 image sets). Camera images and temperature measurements can be analysed and organised into reports using the FLIR Tools® Software (sold separately).
As this infrared camera has been designed for use in hazardous environments, it has been constructed to ensure that it can be easily carried and/or attached to firefighting/ emergency response equipment/ uniforms. It is compact and lightweight as well as water-resistant and rugged. The FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera has been drop tested from 2m (6ft) onto concrete.
Furthermore, the FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera’s battery provides it with five and a half hours of power without an intermittent charge.
The FLIR K1 Firefighting Thermal Imaging Camera is a rugged, reliable and crucial infrared imager optimised for firefighting applications such as tackling fires in buildings, on industrial sites, around traffic accidents, and in woodlands. It is also suitable for search and rescue operations. Please see the video below for further information regarding the advantages of using a FLIR thermal imaging camera during emergency response applications.
