Specifically designed for use in schools, the FLIR C5 Educational R&D Thermal Camera Kit includes the following:
Students in both Sweden and the USA have benefitted from using thermal technology in their science lessons. In the videos below, pupils and teachers demonstrate and talk about the advantages of using thermal technology in class.
As shown in the videos, thermal technology provides an easy-to-understand, fast, and interesting way of illustrating heat transfer. Furthermore, as thermal cameras also measure temperature, students can quantify heat loss or gain.
Pocket-sized, rugged, and easy-to-use, the FLIR C5 Compact Thermal Camera is ideal for the classroom. It has an ingress protection rating of IP54 ensuring it is protected against dust and water ingress and it has been drop-tested from 2m. This infrared and visible-light imaging camera includes an integrated 5MP digital camera and an IR resolution of 160 x 120px. It also supports MSX imaging which overlays visual details onto the thermal picture making it easier for students to identify objects. In addition to this, it features a Picture-in-Picture mode, six selectable thermal palettes (Iron, Grey, Rainbow, Arctic, Lava, and Rainbow HC), and is equipped with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, LED torch, Wi-Fi, and FLIR Ignite Cloud Connectivity. For more information regarding the FLIR C5 Compact Thermal Camera, please see the following video.
