What is veterinary Thermography?
Veterinary Thermography uses thermal imaging technology to assist with the diagnosis of animals. A variety of different animals can benefit from veterinary Thermography and many medical problems will cause heat changes in an animal that can otherwise only be found by invasive procedures.
What are the best conditions for veterinary Thermography?
Inconsistent heat can cause problems when taking thermal images. This means that images are best taken out of direct sunlight and draughts. For best results the animal should ideally be indoors and not recently exercised.
Can a Veterinary thermographer prescribe medication?
Only a qualified Vet can prescribe medication to an animal. Thermal images can be used to help a vet diagnose a problem correctly and will ensure that the correct medicine is prescribed.
Can I claim on insurance for Thermography?
Thermography can be claimed on your insurance if it is prescribed by your vet as part of a treatment plan.
How long does a consultation take?
Most consultations take between half-an-hour to an-hour-and-a-half depending on the size of animal. This can be performed at distance from the animal causing minimal disruption and distress.
